In November 1949, under the cooperation of the 4th Field Army, our 2nd Field Army marched toward the Southwest from several directions out flanking the enemies. Within half a year, our troop annihilated 900 thousand people of the Kuomintang Army, smashing the enemies' attempt of relying on the Southwest to wait for the chance to counterattack.
