There have been two Dalai Lamas and one Panchen Lama chosen from Lhalu’s family. The 83-year-old Lhalu, descendant of this prominent family in Tibetan history, is the vice-chairman of the Tibetan Political Consultative Conference.
Through Lhalu’s accounts and precious historical footage, the film demonstrates the changes a Tibetan family and the whole region have undergone.

The Purple Kasaya
洛桑巴丹14岁时进了喇嘛庙。他系统学习四年藏医后，成为一位合格的乡村医生，但他依然没有脱下紫袈裟。
每天在寺庙、医院和病人之间奔波的巴丹，有着丰富的内心世界，多重的身份也使他的生活五光十色，充满了酸甜苦辣。
When he was 14, Luosang Badan entered the lamasery to be a lama. After four years of studying Tibetan medicine, he has become a qualified doctor in the countryside, but he still wears his purple Kasaya robe.
Shuttling between the lamasery, hospital and the patients, Badan is quite content with his life. His multiple identities make his life a combination of happiness and frustrations.
